Associate Business Advisor • Business Broker
The Associate Business Advisor is an entry-level sales and support role designed for professionals launching a career in business brokerage and M&A advisory. Associates work closely with a Director and Buyer Coordinator to support valuation, marketing, and client service efforts. You’ll gain hands-on experience with real deals while building foundational sales and advisory skills.
This is a commission-only, independent contractor (1099) position, ideal for individuals looking to build their own income-generating practice in a high-growth industry.
- Assist with outbound prospecting, business development, and follow-up
- Support financial reviews, valuations, and pricing models
- Help draft CIMs and listing marketing packages
- Participate in client meetings, buyer interactions, and deal strategy
- Manage CRM updates and internal communication
- Learn from Buyer Coordinators how to screen and qualify buyer leads
- Collaborate with Directors on active listings and personal development
- Promotion to Business Advisor typically occurs within 12–18 months
- Learn how to manage clients, close deals, and originate new listings
- Sales curiosity and follow-up discipline
- Professional written and verbal communication
- Time management, CRM, and organizational skills
- Interest in entrepreneurship, financial analysis, and business operations
- 0–2 years of experience in business, sales, or finance
- Real Estate License preferred (required within 6 months of onboarding)
- Bachelor’s degree preferred
- Self-motivated, coachable, and eager to grow
Compensation Structure
- 1099 commission-only position with no base salary
- Earnings based on performance and closed deals
- Associates begin by supporting active advisors while developing their own pipeline
- Long-term income potential grows significantly with transition to Business Advisor
