EDGE Business Advisors is expanding in Wisconsin and actively hiring a motivated, entrepreneurial individual to join our team as a Business Broker (Sales Agent). This is a 1099 independent contractor role with significant earning potential, training support, and a clear path for career growth within a professional business brokerage and M&A advisory firm.
Whether you’re an experienced agent seeking a more lucrative niche or someone with strong business instincts and people skills, this opportunity gives you the tools, team, and platform to succeed.
Business Brokers at EDGE help entrepreneurs buy and sell privately held businesses. The position is ideal for someone who enjoys networking, values confidentiality, and thrives in a commission-based sales environment.
You will:
Develop and manage relationships with business owners and buyers
Assist in business valuation, packaging, and listing preparation
Confidentially market businesses for sale and screen buyers
Structure offers and negotiate terms
Manage deals from LOI to closing, with support from your team
This is a commission-only, subcontracted position (1099) with growing splits based on performance and progression.
We provide a clear professional development path with increasing commission splits as you advance:
Associate Business Advisor (entry-level)
Senior Business Advisor
As you grow, your earning potential increases—with splits structured to reward productivity, professionalism, and results.
At EDGE, we believe no Advisor should work alone. Each Business Advisor is supported by a dedicated Director and a Buyer Coordinator, forming a unit focused on getting deals done efficiently and effectively.
We also provide access to:
In-house Legal support for deal questions and document reviews
In-house Real Estate experts for lease negotiations and property transitions
Marketing and lead generation tools
Ongoing training and mentorship
You’ll have the freedom of an independent agent with the backing of a full-service M&A team.
Active Wisconsin Real Estate License (required to legally broker business sales in WI)
Excellent communication and relationship-building skills
Strong sense of ownership, accountability, and follow-through
Entrepreneurial mindset and interest in business, finance, or dealmaking
Experience in sales, consulting, real estate, or business ownership is a plus
